Wendi Koziol has been promoted to vice president and an officer of Public Communications Inc. (PCI), the Chicago-based independent integrated communications agency that has been serving clients nationally for 48 years. Koziol is an experienced account manager and counselor, having worked at PCI since 1999 with a diverse group of health care, education, development and non-profit organizations.

She has been involved in some of the agency’s most sophisticated and challenging programs, working on strategy and managing account teams to keep programs generating results.

“Wendi brings her clients experience and creativity, but most of all a passion for their work,” said Dorothy Pirovano, president and CEO. “She can be counted on to know a client’s business, spot trends and recommend new avenues of communication.”

Koziol manages programs for Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry, which consistently wins awards for its exhibit openings and special events; Museums In the Park, a collaboration of museums in Chicago; the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology, a national agency that evaluates electronic health record software; the National Society of Genetic Counselors, a professional association whose members counsel people about genetic testing; and the Academy for Urban School Leadership, a non-profit that transforms chronically underperforming schools.

Among her former clients are National-Louis University, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Zimmer Orthopaedics, Inc., the Morton Arboretum, the Archdiocese of Chicago, Catholic Theological Union and the Union League Club of Chicago. She has assisted with media relations and meeting planning for the scientific meetings of the American Headache Society and the Society of Interventional Radiology and was part of the account team for the Industrial Development Board of Northern Ireland.

Koziol is a graduate of Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wis., where she earned a Master of Arts degree in advertising and public relations and Bachelor of Arts degrees in public relations and Spanish. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and Publicity Club of Chicago and volunteers at her church in Darien, Ill.

A national firm with more than 45 professionals, PCI has as many clients out-of-state as in, and has a concentration of business in health care, conservation/environment, education, culture/entertainment/sports and “everything Chicago.” PCI is a founding partner of the Worldcom Group, the world's leading network of independently owned public relations counseling firms. PCI also is a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Counsel. The firm’s offices are at One E. Wacker Dr. in downtown Chicago. For more information, visit www.pcipr.com.
