PCI Wins Best Of The Best At This Year’s Golden Trumpet Awards

CHICAGO – May 9, 2011

Public Communications Inc. (PCI) and its clients received the Publicity Club of Chicago’s Platinum Award for the year’s best overall public relations program, and the Jeffrey D. Bierig Brand Builder Award for the program that most significantly enhances and promotes a brand for an organization, product or service.

The awards are two of the top four honors presented by the Publicity Club and were among 10 awards received by PCI and its clients at the 2011 Golden Trumpet Awards luncheon at the Palmer House. The Publicity Club of Chicago is the largest independent public relations organization in North America.

The Platinum Award was presented to PCI for the Howard Brown Health Center’s “Lifeline Appeal” crisis management program. The Museum of Science and Industry’s “Month at the Museum” marketing program earned the Jeffrey D. Bierig Brand Builder Award. Both programs also were recognized with Golden Trumpets. PCI and the Museum of Science and Industry also won a Golden Trumpet in the Special Events and Observances category for the “Science Storms” exhibit.

“Every day we are rewarded by seeing the positive results of the communication programs we develop and execute in partnership with our clients,” said Jill Allread, APR, president of PCI. “Being recognized by our peers, especially with two of the PCC’s top awards, gives us an even greater sense of pride and accomplishment for the work we do to benefit our clients.”

PCI won Golden Trumpets in the special events and observances category for the Navy Pier’s (MPEA) “Pepsi Tall Ships Chicago 2010” and in the non-profit annual report category for The Adler School of Professional Psychology.

Silver Trumpets were awarded to PCI for the Shedd Aquarium’s “Penguin Encounters” in the special events and observances category; the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum’s “Introducing the Urban Gateway to Nature and Science” in the institutional category; and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology’s “Find an Allergist, Find Relief” program in marketing.”
