PCI Participates in the Letters to Santa program sponsored by Direct Effect Charities

PCI’s staff decided this holiday season to give back to the community by participating in the Letters to Santa program sponsored by Direct Effect Charities. The charity works with Chicago Public Schools to identify needy schools – those that are at a 95 percent poverty rate or higher – and asks students to write letters to Santa and Santa’s helpers naming something they’d like for Christmas. For many children, it may be the only Christmas present they receive.

PCI “elves” generously bought gifts for more than 40 second- and third-grade students and personally delivered the gifts to children at New Field School on Chicago’s far north side. Staff members were very enthusiastic about the program and were thrilled to have the opportunity to come together and help children in need.
