Veterans’ health campaign wins Gold Circle Award

Senior Vice President Leigh Wagner was in Washington, D.C. this week attending the American Society of Association Executives’ (ASAE) 2017 Marketing, Membership & Communications Conference with our client, the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). ASA was recognized with a “Gold Circle Award” for an outstanding media/public relations/advocacy campaign for our work preserving physician-led, team-based anesthesia care. The team also received the prestigious Gold Circle Award for Overall Excellence.

The campaign was in response to a proposed rule in the Federal Register that would have removed physician anesthesiologists from surgery in the Department of Veterans Affairs, lowering the standard of veterans’ care and putting their lives at risk. We launched an advocacy campaign to encourage the public, policymakers and veterans to speak out against the rule using traditional, social and digital public relations tactics to drive awareness and inspire action.
